We had some rain yesterday. In the afternoon while I was taking my shower I heard much more water than I had going—it was a nice little downpour. Unfortunately, the key word there is little. At least it was rain and did a world of good for plants outside. It later sprinkled after supper while I was moving the stakes for the goats.
Laura said that other than the
monotony of working with Paul, it wasn’t too bad. She’s going back today and it
is possible that she might end up doing some data entry at some point.
Speaking of Laura, she’s decided to
not go into the Navy. All she had left to do is have her physical and sign on
the line (actually probably several lines). Now she’s thinking she wants to go
on a mission for the church which means she needs to get a job (having had at
least a part-time job is now one of the prerequisites and while she had a job,
it was more than a year ago). Joanna is going to bring her an application home
from Friendlys today. Three people have or are going to quit—two fountain
workers and one server I think is what Joanna said.
I got Joseph’s birthday story done
yesterday. In going through my old journals, I discovered that I have some
blank spots in my life. That is not good—especially since one of them is the
last two years before the accident. Two years of memories of Daniel that I
hopefully have recorded somewhere because if I don’t, there are a lot of things
that will be missing. At least during that time period, we do have quite a few
pictures which tell much of the story. It is still nice to have the words.
Today I am not sure what’s on the
agenda other than Paul and Laura going to work soon. Joanna works from 11:00 to
4:00 and then she’s going to take Cedric to Friendlys for supper and to church
for Scouts on her scooter. Adam mentioned coming over and wanting to go
swimming. Paul will be taking the van to work which will leave me with the
ailing Jetta so I’m not likely to go anywhere. If Adam is okay with taking three
children with him, that’s fine, otherwise, I’m not sure what he’ll/we’ll do. I
would be fine just staying home and maybe working on getting a freezer
defrosted. Both of the freezers are getting a little empty space in them and
they both need to be defrosted (and both are supposedly frost free). They also
are both in need of organizing as well. I’d like to have them organized
according to date and kind of food. I wouldn’t mind reading either. I do need
to remember to call the doctor—they’ve got a paper I need to get turned in to
the Mount in order to be able to take phlebotomy this fall. Also, a goat needs
to be put in front of the house again today. Not Goldilocks either because she
didn’t do a whole lot yesterday; at least not as much as I was expecting. At
any rate, there should be plenty to keep everyone occupied today.
Have a wonderful day!
